1.1 Visit Visa (Single & Multiple Entry)
Single Entry Tourist Visa – Who is it for?
If you are travelling to Indonesia for tourism purposes or to see friends, family or loved ones and you intend to stay in Indonesia within 60 days, then the Single Entry Tourist Visa is the correct visa for you.
The Directorate General of Immigration in the Republic of Indonesia has created a specific type of visas for short visits to the country, as stated in the Indonesian Law No. 6 of 2011 regarding immigration affairs.
This visa is an incredibly popular visa choice for travellers or anyone that is looking to stay within Indonesia at a cost-effective price, paired with simplicity; no expensive government fees or long processing times.
Key Points:
- Not every nationality may be eligible for the Visa on Arrival Scheme. At the time of writing, only 97 nationalities may use the Visa on Arrival. If you are not on the list, you can apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa Indonesia.
- The government restricts foreigners from applying for visas onshore using the Visa on Arrival. Therefore, if you plan to apply for a KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit) later, you must enter using a valid visa like this one.
Requirements
- Colored passport scan with a minimum validity of 12 months.
- Personal bank statement from the last three months (including name, period, and balance).
- Recent colored photograph.
Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (Index D1)
The Multiple Entry Tourist Visa is designed for leisure travellers who wish to visit Indonesia multiple times within a specific period. It allows for an initial stay of 60 days, with the option to extend twice, each time for an additional 60 days, allowing for a total stay of up to 180 days per visit.
After 180 days, you must leave Indonesia but can re-enter using the same visa (provided it is still valid).
Ideal For:
- Extended holidays exploring various parts of Indonesia.
- Frequent visits to see friends and family.
- Attending short-term events like conferences or exhibitions as a visitor.
Stays of 60 days per visit. Extendable twice (60 days per extension). Available in 1-year and 2-year options. You must arrive in Indonesia within 90 days after receiving your visa.
Document Requirements
- Passport valid for at least six (6) months from the intended date of entry.
- Recent Colour Photograph (passport-sized).
- Personal bank statement showing a minimum balance equivalent to USD $2,000 (or IDR 20,000,000). Must cover the last 3 months.
1.2 Investor Visa (KITAS)
Overview
One of the most off-putting things about obtaining a visa in Indonesia is the cost of the work permit – particularly for new business owners! However, in 2019 the Indonesian Government relaunched the Investor Visa (Investor ITAS), making it significantly easier to obtain and offering huge financial savings.
The Investor Visa (ITAS), also known as Izin Tinggal Terbatas, is specifically designed for business investors in Indonesia, allowing them to live and manage their business within the country with relative ease.
According to BKPM amendments (Decree no.5/2019), Investors no longer need to apply for a Working Permit (costing US$1200 per year) if they hold an Investor KITAS. This reduces the annual visa outlay by US$1200.
Documents Required
- Original passport with minimum 18 months validity (for 1-year KITAS) or 30 months (for 2-year KITAS).
- Company’s Deed of Establishment and its amendments.
- Ratification from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (SK Kehakiman).
- Tax Registration Number (NPWP) of company sponsor.
- Business Domicile & Business License (Izin Usaha).
- Business Identification Number (NIB).
- ID Card (KTP) and Tax ID (NPWP) of the Indonesian Director.
- Blank document with company’s letterhead.
- Bank account statement with minimum balance USD 1500.
1.3 Business Visa (Single & Multiple Entry)
Single Entry Business Visa
Designed for foreign nationals traveling to Indonesia for business purposes that require an extended stay. This visa offers greater flexibility than the Visa on Arrival, making it ideal for business meetings, conferences, or engaging in business activities over a longer period.

- Statement letter to comply with health protocols.
- Health/travel insurance or medical declaration.

Multiple Entry Business Visa
If you regularly enter and exit Indonesia for business, this is the correct visa. It allows multiple entries throughout the year for meetings and leisure.
